The Edmond North and Edmond Memorial girls swim teams beat Jenks in the pool Tuesday night, with North using its depth to win and Memorial taking eight of 11 wins to come in second. For the boys, top-ranked Jenks took first place. Lady Husky talent ran deep, but it was North’s Emma Reynolds who netted an individual win in the girls 100-yard breaststroke. The Lady Husky team of Hannah Brenning, Lindsey Fuchs, Brynnan Duncan and Ryann James achieved victory in the 200-yard medley relay. Memorial girls were led by the trio of Sydney Parker, Kellie Fischer and Katie Callahan, who all scored two wins each. Parker took first in the 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard backstroke, Fischer sprinted to wins in both the 50- and 100-yard freestyle events, and Callahan earned the top finish in the 200- and 500-yard freestyle events. Memorial girls also struck gold in two relay events. Parker, Fischer and Callahan teamed up with Angelina Rossi to win the 200-yard medley relay. In the 400-yard freestyle relay, Parker, Fischer and Callahan joined Riley Bushey for the first-place finish. For Santa Fe, Lady Wolf Chloe Case was the top finisher, earning gold in the 200-yard individual medley. In boys’ action, Luke Davis led the way for Memorial with double-event wins in the 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard butterfly. “It was really fun to have Jenks come swim in our pool. They brought a lot of talent, and it pushed our swimmers to compete at their best,” said Edmond Public Schools Head Swim Coach Heather Devoe. “We are fortunate that each school had great swims Tuesday night.” In upcoming action, the Memorial girls and boys teams travel to Bixby Tuesday, Nov. 22. Then, all of Edmond team’s take on Putnam City North Thursday, Nov. 30, at the Edmond Schools Aquatic Center at Mitch Park. The meet will begin at 5:30 p.m.
