Edmond’s diamond dashers mob All State list

Six of Edmond’s 6A Softball athletes were named to the 2018 Large West All State teams on Monday, the Oklahoma Coaches Association (OCA) announced. State runner-ups Edmond North saw two of their very own named to Monday’s roster, with catcher Amy Crabaugh and outfielder Kaitlyn Jones each earning nods after standout senior years saw the Lady Huskies in the hunt for a state championship in mid-October. Joining on that hunt was semifinalist Deer Creek, led by Emily Hott. Hott was selected to join the West team on Monday, too, earning a middle infielder position. Joining those three state tournament qualifiers will be three more Edmond athletes. Santa Fe’s Natalie Jones (Middle Infield) and Jordan Bowman (Pitcher) were each selected to Monday’s All State team, and the pair of Wolves were flanked by lone Bulldog Crislyn Cole. Cole was the sole senior on a young Memorial roster, and she was named to the team as a utility infielder. Deer Creek’s Brett Smith was also named to the roster, serving as an alternate from the catcher position. The athletes’ nominations earn them the chance to compete next summer during the OCA games in Tulsa. With all the aforementioned selected to the Large West team, they’ll team up against the Large East team come late-July.
