All Edmond Volleyball First Team

Kaeli Robinson, Edmond Santa Fe, Most Valuable Player

Robinson was again dominant this season, serving as the best pure-scorer in the Edmond area. Leading the Wolves to a dominant 32-3 record, Robinson’s attacking attempts felt given at times, with the University of Central Oklahoma commit excelling the most when she was able to find the ball at the apex of her out-of-the-gym jumps.

Kamryn Bacus, Edmond North, Offensive Player of the Year

Bacus bruised opposing defenses all year long. The junior tallied a team-high 553 kills on the year for an average of 8 kills per set. She also led her team in aces (83); while finishing third on the roster with 345 digs. Though North left the state tournament in the quarters, Bacus had one of the most memorable games of the year when she tallied 10 kills in the final set against an Edlam rival, finishing one kill shy of leading the entire court by double-digits.

Maicee Morgan, Deer Creek

Morgan turned into one of the most dominant hitters in the area this season. Hitting for total of 366 kills, the Southwestern Oklahoma State University commit showed her tendency to take over games on the offensive side of the net — like an 18-kill state quarterfinal pairing that saw Morgan’s Antlers beat Norman North for their 26th win on the year.

Rylen Moore, Edmond Santa Fe

It would have been easy for Moore to demand more attention after winning the 2017 State Tournament MVP. Instead, she put the team first, excelling in a variety of positions while shouldering a vast amount of the Lady Wolves’ responsibility during their repeat title run.

Teagan Polcovich, Deer Creek

Polcovich was as close to a quarterback as the sport of volleyball could possibly see. But she wasn’t just a pocket passer, Polcovich was closer to a dual-threat, leading the team in digs (573) and a near-perfect digs passed rating (2.2) — all while recorded a team-most 576 set-assists and hitting successfully for 210 kills.

Allie High, Edmond Memorial

Senior leader High lifted Edmond Memorial to a state semifinal birth, and behind her the Bulldogs pushed state runner-up Stillwater to five sets. Season-wide, High was a Swiss Army knife of skills, notching 51 kills, 52 aces, 12 blocks, 63 assists and staving 461 digs on the year.

Gracie Burleson, Edmond North

Burleson was a big part of North’s successes in 2018. Recording a team-high 635 digs, Burleson prevented an average of 5.5 opposing attacks per set, mopping handfuls of points off the scoreboard while lifting North to the city title.

Jacy Vicsek, Edmond Memorial

Vicsek operated as one of the best setters in the area. Acting as kill delegator, Vicsek found teammates for scores 936 times — an Edmond-most — alongside 250 digs and 28 aces in 2018.

All Edmond Volleyball Second Team

Rori Chartier, Edmond Santa Fe

One of the best defensive-minded athletes among the list, Chartier made a living absorbing the pressure created by opposing hitters. She was one of the best defensive specialists on the top-20 nationally ranked Santa Fe team.

Nalani McCrary, Edmond Santa Fe

Excelling on a variety of attacking looks, McCrary was the perfect balance to Santa Fe’s strong outside hitters. And, on occasion, McCrary would show off her athleticism by floating outside and to her right, before sending an attack back across the court.

Trinity Sargeant, Deer Creek

Sargeant was trouble for opposing hitters all season long. Grabbing 2.5 blocks per set, Sargeant set the Lady Antlers’ defensive tone this season, and she even flipped the switch offensively, too, recording 190 kills on the year.

Regan Pendleton, Edmond Memorial

Pendleton led the Bulldogs on attack this season, notching a team-high 337 kills. Another facet was her defense, though, with the junior grabbing 82 blocks, adding another component to what was a stingy Bulldog defense.

Sophia Ayubi, Edmond Memorial

Ayubi was the perfect counter-punch to Pendleton’s successes. Ayubi herself tallied another 255 kills, and the gifted leaper even recorded near 90 digs on the year.

Aubrey Cramer, Edmond North

Cramer finished second on her team in digs this season (376), while spouting a 2.06 passing average. Her near-perfect passing numbers were even bolstered, too, when accounted alongside her 53 aces on the year.

Anastassiya Barakhoyeva, Edmond Santa Fe

The emotion Barakhoyeva channels while competing was unprecedented. Especially the anger — for when she was playing angry she was at her best, using her multifaceted skillset to dominate the Fe’s opponents from just about anywhere on the court.
