Edmond North's 9th Grade girls basketball team overcame a slow start Monday night to defeat Norman 37-24.

The Lady Huskies held Norman scoreless in the 2nd quarter and took a 17-8 halftime lead. Norman got within 3 early in the 3rd quarter, but the Lady Huskies were able to pull away in the 2nd half to secure their 13 point victory.

Ataya Casaus led all scorers with 15 points. Kenna Lake went 5-6 from the free throw line and ended with 7 points on the night.

The 9th grade girls will compete in the Edmond Tournament starting Thursday at Memorial High School.
