The Edmond North 9th grade football team won it's first game of the season on Monday defeating the Memorial Bulldogs 33-12 at Bulldog Stadium.

The Bulldogs took an early 6-0 lead in the 1st quarter before the Huskies got rolling. North would rattle off 33 unanswered points to take down the Bulldogs.

Devanor Mathews got the scoring started when he took a screen pass from Pryce Bender 55 yards to the endzone. Bender then hooked up with Pierson Baker on a 43 yard strike to make make the score 13-6. Before the end of half, Bender would find Jair Harjo on a 31 yard pass that would put the Huskies up 20-6.

The defense opened the scoring in the second half when Dalton Minnick scooped up a Memorial fumble and took it 28 yards to extend the Husky lead to 27-6. Jace Lakin would score on a 15 yard pass from Bender late in the 3rd quarter.

Salvador Sodari led the defense with 7 tackles 2 sacks.

Their next game will be next Monday when they host Santa Fe at 5:00 in Husky Stadium.
